Mafrooz is looking for a Head of Climate & Sustainability Solutions Flexible / Fractional Engagement | Egypt Initial 3-month collaboration, with potential for a long-term leadership role ABOUT MAFROOZ Mafrooz builds digital infrastructure for the circular economy. Our existing consumer and collector applications, hub management system, and central traceability platform connect material flows from their source to factory delivery. We are now developing our industrial solutions: connecting factory operations, measurements, and environmental calculations to produce traceable evidence of environmental performance. We have operations and technology capabilities in place. We are looking for someone to lead the climate and sustainability side of this next stage. THE OPPORTUNITY Help us build an industrial sustainability business, working directly with our CEO and technology lead—from identifying client needs and defining technical requirements to developing partnerships and delivering projects. Our initial focus is on three pathways: • Environmental evidence supporting EU scrap import readiness, subject to applicable country, waste-category, and facility requirements. • CBAM emissions calculations, reporting, and verification support for covered products. • Carbon project eligibility assessment, development, and monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV). WHAT YOU WILL LEAD • Translate regulatory requirements and carbon methodologies into practical data, measurement, calculation, and reporting specifications for our technology team. • Shape services that address real factory needs and can be commercially delivered. • Lead technical discussions with factories and contribute to proposals, negotiations, and project delivery. • Develop relationships with specialist advisers, project developers, verification bodies, and relevant international programmes. • Monitor regulatory and market developments and turn them into clear product and business priorities. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Hands-on experience in industrial decarbonisation, carbon accounting, CBAM, carbon project development, or environmental compliance. • Demonstrated depth in one or more of these areas, with the ability to coordinate specialists across the others. • The ability to explain methodologies and requirements clearly to both factory teams and software developers. • Experience building client relationships and taking projects from discussion to delivery. • Strong professional English and Arabic. • An entrepreneurial mindset and consistent time to commit to building this function. Experience with steel, recycling, waste shipment requirements, or facility environmental assessments would be particularly valuable. COLLABORATION STRUCTURE We propose an initial 3-month engagement with agreed responsibilities, time commitment, deliverables, and compensation. If there is a strong mutual fit, we would explore a longer-term leadership arrangement, potentially including equity vesting over four years under a separate agreement.
