WE ARE HIRING: Head of Carbon Markets and Sustainability Lead the carbon credit and climate programme of a flagship project in the mountains of Gilgit Reckoner Audit is looking for one exceptional sustainability leader. Not a team. One person who can do it all, from carbon credit strategy to certification, and turn real climate impact into measurable, verified value. LOCATION: Blue Area, Islamabad and Gilgit TIMING: Full-time, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM TRAVEL: Regular travel to Gilgit and project sites THE OPPORTUNITY: Carbon markets are among the fastest-growing areas in climate finance. You will build and lead our carbon credit work from the ground up, from project design and baselines to verification, issuance and sale, and you will shape how a major project in one of the most striking landscapes in the world earns its climate credentials. WHAT YOU WILL OWN: - Carbon credit strategy: identify, design and develop carbon credit projects, and set the roadmap from baseline to issuance - Carbon standards and registries: manage projects under recognised standards such as Verra (VCS), Gold Standard and similar, and prepare project documents for validation and verification - MRV: build measurement, reporting and verification systems that stand up to third-party audit - Carbon accounting: lead whole life carbon and life cycle assessments, carbon baselines and reduction roadmaps, aligned with ISO 14064 and PAS 2080 - Carbon market and offtake: assess the market, support pricing, buyer engagement and offtake discussions, and advise on green finance and funding - Climate and nature: lead climate risk assessments, energy transition pathways and nature-based solutions - Certification: oversee LEED, WELL, Envision or equivalent certifications across the project assets - Compliance: manage ESIA/EIA, environmental plans, permits and site compliance - Reporting: set up Power BI and BIM dashboards to track carbon, energy, water and credit performance in real time - Stakeholders and growth: engage government, utilities, local communities and clients, and lead the technical side of bids and proposals - Leadership: coach and mentor the technical team as it grows WHO YOU ARE - 10+ years in sustainability, climate or environmental consulting, with senior leadership experience - Proven experience in carbon credit or carbon market projects, from design to verification - Strong knowledge of ISO 14064, PAS 2080, Verra VCS or Gold Standard methodologies - Degree in Civil, Environmental or a related Engineering field (Master's preferred) - LEED AP, ENV SP, WELL AP or an equivalent accreditation - Hands-on with OneClick LCA, Power BI and BIM360 - A track record of leading large programmes and delivering certifications - A confident communicator who can present to government, investors and clients - Ready to work between Islamabad and Gilgit and travel regularly ADVANTAGES: - ISO 14064 verifier or validator training - Chartered or professional engineer status - Experience with forestry, land use, renewable energy or glacier-region climate projects - Experience in mountain or remote regions
