Uttara Development Program Society (UDPS) is looking for Manager Environment and Climate Action Job Description / Responsibility About UDPS Uttara Development Program Society (UDPS) is a Bangladesh-based development organization working to improve the living standards of underserved communities through microfinance and other development initiatives. Position Purpose Lead practical environment and climate initiatives that reduce risk, improve environmental performance and create measurable benefits for beneficiaries and the organization. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop practical initiatives addressing climate mitigation, adaptation and environmental sustainability. Provide technical input to relevant programs, services and financing activities so environmental considerations are built into design and delivery. Develop proportionate environmental screening, safeguard and risk-management procedures for relevant activities. Review higher-risk proposals or activities, monitor compliance and recommend practical corrective action. Define useful indicators and coordinate collection and verification of environment and climate results. Prepare technical notes, concept documents, reports and learning materials for management and relevant stakeholders. Coordinate with departments, communities, technical partners and authorities and deliver practical awareness or capacity-building activities when required. Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Geography, Engineering, Development Studies or another relevant discipline. Experience Requirements 3 to 5 year(s) The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO,Micro-Credit Additional Requirements Qualifications and Experience At least 3 years of relevant experience in environment, climate change, safeguards, sustainable development or climate-responsive program design. Demonstrated experience developing practical technical guidance, conducting field-based assessment or supporting implementation and results monitoring. Core Competencies Strong practical understanding of climate mitigation, adaptation, environmental sustainability and safeguards. Project or initiative design, technical analysis, field assessment and results-monitoring capability. Clear technical writing, presentation and communication in Bangla and English. Strong stakeholder coordination, facilitation, problem-solving and learning skills. Sound judgement, integrity and the ability to turn technical concepts into workable actions. Salary Tk. 42000 - 50000 (Monthly)
