About Development Connect Development Connect is Sri Lanka’s first integrated development ecosystem, bringing together NGOs, corporates, civil society organizations, voluntary organizations, development professionals and volunteers. Through our CSR Impact Catalyst service, we design and deliver CSR projects across the country and make sure their results can be measured, verified and reported with credibility. What you’ll accomplish Corporate CSR money is only as valuable as the evidence behind it. Too many impact reports rely on anecdotes and unverified numbers. In this role, you will make sure every Development Connect project can show its results with credibility, and give our corporate clients figures they can stand behind in their own sustainability reports. You will report to the CEO and work closely with our Operations Manager, who leads project delivery on the ground. What you’ll do Design: build measurement into each project Draft the results framework and SMART indicators for every new CSR project. Map each project to relevant SDG targets and GRI disclosures at the design stage. Agree baselines with the Operations Manager and clients before activities begin. Activate: support data collection during delivery Design monitoring templates, beneficiary surveys and site data sheets, and hand them to the Operations Manager for use in the field. Review partner data for completeness and flag gaps or risks early. Measure: quantify results Calculate environmental outcomes, including GHG emissions avoided or reduced (Scope 1, 2 and 3), energy, water and waste. Apply life cycle thinking to assess the net environmental benefit of interventions. Analyze social outcomes against baseline, such as beneficiaries reached and changes recorded. Verify data quality and keep an evidence trail for every reported figure. Report: communicate results credibly Prepare project-level and portfolio-level CSR impact reports for corporate clients. Draft ESG disclosures and GRI content index entries that clients can use in their own reports. Produce dashboards and summaries for client leadership and Development Connect communications. Present findings to non-technical as well as technical audiences, jointly with the CEO where appropriate. Track updates to GRI, SLFRS S1 and S2, and advise the team on their implications. What you have A degree in sustainability, environmental science, economics, development studies, statistics or a related field. Hands-on experience with ESG or CSR reporting, impact measurement, or environmental KPIs. Working knowledge of GRI Standards and the SDG framework. Strong analytical skills and data analysis in Excel, with comfort using data visualisation tools. Fluent written English for client-facing reports. What you bring Clear written and spoken communication, including presenting data-driven insights to clients and partners. Sound judgement on data quality, assumptions and uncertainty, and a habit of avoiding overclaiming. The ability to manage several projects, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision. Ease of working with clients, NGOs and field partners across Sri Lanka and internationally. Nice to have Postgraduate study in sustainability, environmental management or development. GRI certification, progress towards it, or a carbon accounting qualification. Experience with life cycle assessment tools such as SimaPro or openLCA. Experience in international development, social impact, or NGO and corporate partnership projects. Experience with community, volunteer or youth development programmes. Tamil or Sinhala, for working with field partners. What’s in it for you Hybrid working from our Colombo base, with flexibility for some work from home. A full-time role with a direct line to the CEO and close daily work with the Operations Manager. Exposure to CSR, ESG and GRI reporting across corporate clients and sectors. The chance to shape measurement methods that will be reused across all CSR Impact Catalyst projects. Compensation Competitive, and discussed with shortlisted candidates.
