Working closely with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, Finance, and Sustainability teams, this role will play a key part in reducing energy costs, improving resource efficiency, and advancing the organization's long-term energy management goals. 🎯 Key Responsibilities Develop and implement energy management strategies aligned with organizational objectives, operational requirements, and sustainability targets. Monitor energy consumption across facilities, equipment, production processes, and operational activities to identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct energy audits, energy assessments, and performance evaluations to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective measures. Develop energy conservation initiatives to reduce electricity consumption, fuel usage, operating costs, and carbon emissions. Establish energy performance indicators (KPIs), consumption baselines, monitoring systems, and reporting frameworks. Analyze utility bills, energy usage patterns, demand profiles, and operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities. Evaluate energy efficiency projects, including lighting upgrades, HVAC optimization, equipment improvements, building automation, and process optimization. Assess renewable energy opportunities, including solar power, energy storage, and other suitable low-carbon technologies. Prepare business cases, cost-benefit analyses, investment proposals, and return-on-investment assessments for energy projects. Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams to implement energy improvement initiatives. Manage relationships with utility providers, energy consultants, equipment suppliers, contractors, and relevant regulatory bodies. Monitor energy market developments, tariff changes, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Ensure energy management activities comply with applicable energy regulations, environmental requirements, and relevant standards, including ISO 50001 where appropriate. Support carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Oversee energy-related project budgets, implementation schedules, contractor performance, and project outcomes. Develop energy management policies, standard operating procedures, and employee awareness programs to encourage responsible energy use. Evaluate the effectiveness of energy-saving measures and recommend continuous improvements based on measured results. Prepare energy performance reports, audit findings, project updates, and strategic recommendations for senior management. Lead, mentor, and coordinate team members responsible for energy management, maintenance, and sustainability initiatives. ✅ Requirements Proven experience in energy management, energy engineering, facilities management, sustainability, utilities, or a related technical field. Strong understanding of energy efficiency, energy auditing, utility systems, and energy performance optimization. Familiarity with electricity consumption analysis, energy tariffs, load management, and utility cost control. Experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing energy conservation measures and efficiency improvement projects. Understanding of renewable energy technologies, carbon emissions management, and sustainability practices. Knowledge of energy management systems and relevant standards, particularly ISO 50001, is advantageous. Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to evaluate technical proposals, prepare financial assessments, and justify energy investment decisions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate technical and non-technical teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, energy monitoring platforms, building management systems, or other relevant analytical tools. Understanding of applicable energy regulations, environmental requirements, occupational safety standards, and compliance procedures. A bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant professional certifications in energy management, energy auditing, sustainability, or engineering are advantageous. Experience managing large-scale energy efficiency projects, industrial utilities, commercial buildings, or renewable energy initiatives is an added advantage.
