Role informationRole : Project Head - Carbon Capture, Bio-Industrial Solutions and Circular Materials Company : CarbonWeave Ventures Private Limited Group : Sindhu Trade Links Limited and the diversified Sindhu Group Business stage : Greenfield concept-to-commercial build Employment : Full-time and exclusive Base location : Raipur, Chhattisgarh - approximately three weeks per month Corporate travel : Gurgaon headquarters - approximately one week per month, plus project-related travel Reporting : Directly to the Promoter Role Overview CarbonWeave is seeking a senior techno-commercial Project Head to build and lead an integrated carbon capture and circular-materials platform. The role covers CCUS, biochar, algae-based CO2 capture, biotechnology and bio-industrial solutions, and value-added fly-ash utilisation. This is not a narrow plant-management, research or sustainability-reporting role. It requires a business builder who can combine technology evaluation, industrial project execution, commercialisation, carbon integrity, regulatory discipline, safety and P&L thinking. The successful candidate is not expected to be the deepest specialist in every technical stream; they must bring credible depth in relevant areas and be able to assemble and lead specialist teams across the wider platform. Strategic Mandate · Create a commercially viable independent business vertical with its own revenue and P&L roadmap. · Support the Sindhu Group's decarbonisation objectives, develop credible carbon assets and create new products and business opportunities. · Build a portfolio of projects across CCUS, biochar, algae, biotechnology and fly-ash utilisation. Multiple initiatives are expected to progress concurrently, supported by specialist teams. · Translate the current concept into board-ready business plans, detailed project reports, pilot programmes, operating systems and commercial-scale execution. · Establish disciplined governance so that technology, capex, safety, regulatory and carbon-related decisions are supported by evidence and clear accountability. Key Responsibilities Strategy and Business Model · Prepare and execute a three-year and five-year roadmap for the carbon and circular bio-industrial platform. · Evaluate opportunities based on carbon impact, technical feasibility, regulatory risk, capex, margins, scalability and offtake certainty. · Develop detailed project reports, capex and opex estimates, unit-economics models, risk notes, pilot budgets and implementation plans for approval. · Recommend the appropriate operating model for each opportunity, including an internal division, project-specific partnership, SPV, JV, technology-licensing or other structure. Project Development and Technology · Identify and assess CO2 sources, biomass and other feedstocks, algae cultivation routes, fly-ash supply chains, industrial partners and customer markets. · Lead technology scouting, technical due diligence, vendor evaluation, process selection and techno-commercial comparisons across the project portfolio. · Direct site planning, pilot design, equipment selection, utilities, procurement, commissioning, trial operations and scale-up to commercial implementation. · Establish project controls covering budget, schedule, quality, contractor performance, procurement, commissioning and handover. · Ensure pilot programmes generate reliable and scalable operating data rather than remaining demonstration-only initiatives. Operating Model and Team Build · Build the core multidisciplinary team from the ground up, including process engineering, plant operations, biotechnology and R&D, materials, MRV, EHS, quality, project management and commercial capabilities. · Create SOPs, production controls, quality systems, maintenance practices, data dashboards and escalation mechanisms for laboratory, pilot and commercial operations. · Set performance measures for project delivery, operating reliability, yield, energy use, product quality, carbon impact, safety, compliance and commercial outcomes. · Develop a practical culture of ownership, evidence-based decision-making and cross-functional collaboration among scientists, engineers, operators, contractors and commercial teams. Carbon Integrity Compliance and Safety · Build robust Measurement, Reporting and Verification systems for carbon reduction, utilisation and removal claims, including baselines, monitoring plans, sampling, chain of custody and audit-ready evidence. · Ensure that environmental and carbon claims are supported by reliable data, third-party testing and appropriate validation and verification. · Coordinate environmental permits, regulatory requirements and product approvals with internal and external specialists and government agencies. · Establish rigorous EHS controls for CO2, pressure systems, high-temperature processes, dust and ash handling, chemicals, wastewater and biological contamination risks. Commercialisation and Partnerships · Develop commercially viable products and solutions across biochar, algae biomass and derivatives, biotechnology products, fly-ash-based materials and CO2-utilisation applications. · Build partnerships with industrial emitters, power and cement companies, technology providers, EPC partners, laboratories, research institutions, universities, carbon registries and other ecosystem participants. · Develop customer trials, specifications, pricing logic, commercial proposals and offtake arrangements before committing to scale-up. · Create revenue opportunities through product sales, industrial projects, carbon assets, technology licensing, partnerships and other viable downstream opportunities. Leadership and Governance · Work closely and directly with the Promoter to shape the strategy and establish the business and governance structure. · Coordinate with finance, legal, HR, EHS, commercial and other Group functions, as well as consultants, vendors, auditors and external partners. · Present clear progress, budget, risk, compliance and commercial updates to the Promoter and senior management, together with decisions and support required. · Operate with appropriate commercial discipline and protect the company from uncontrolled capex, weak technical assumptions, regulatory breaches, safety incidents and unsupported sustainability claims. Candidate Profile Experience · Approximately 5-25 years of relevant experience across industrial projects, process engineering, environmental engineering, carbon projects, biotechnology or bioprocess scale-up, plant operations, circular materials or related sectors. · At least five years of leadership responsibility covering teams, vendors, budgets, schedules and project execution. · Demonstrated success in building a new plant, pilot, laboratory, technology platform, project portfolio or business vertical from the ground up. · Experience taking technologies or industrial projects from concept and feasibility through pilot, commissioning, operation and commercial scale-up. · Strong exposure to commercial evaluation, unit economics, capex and opex, contracts, customer development, partnerships and offtake. Education A B.Tech, M.Tech or equivalent qualification in Chemical, Environmental, Biotechnology, Bioprocess, Materials, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or a closely related applied science discipline. An MBA or PGDM, PhD, or relevant certification in carbon accounting, EHS, project management or quality systems would be advantageous when supported by strong industrial execution experience. Relevant Technical Exposure Candidates should bring meaningful depth in one or more of the following areas and the ability to integrate specialist teams across the broader platform: · Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, CO2 capture or CO2 utilisation · Biochar, biomass conversion, pyrolysis or gasification · Algae cultivation, photobioreactors or biological CO2 capture · Biotechnology, fermentation or bioprocess scale-up · Carbon mineralisation, fly-ash utilisation, geopolymers, cementitious materials or concrete additives · Environmental and industrial process systems · Carbon accounting, MRV, carbon-credit methodologies or verified carbon projects Leadership Attributes · Broad-based techno-commercial and entrepreneurial orientation · Hands-on, site-focused leadership style with strong execution discipline · Ability to make pragmatic decisions under uncertainty and build capability around technical gaps · High standards of safety, compliance, data integrity and documentation · Commercial pragmatism and willingness to challenge weak business cases or unsupported claims · Credibility with technical specialists, industrial partners, regulators, customers, financiers and senior leadership Why Consider This Opportunity This is a greenfield leadership opportunity to create a new climate-tech and circular-materials platform within an established diversified Group. The Project Head will have direct access to the Promoter, substantial influence over the business and technical roadmap, and the opportunity to build the team, operating model, partnerships and commercial portfolio from inception.
