Accountant (m/f/d) – Finance Operations

You will own our day-to-day accounting and VAT and make it smarter step by step: using AI and system integrations, you automate manual processes and help build the accounting function of a growing international trading business. About the role

WHAT YOU WILL DRIVE
Accounting: Book incoming and outgoing invoices, process payments, reconcile accounts and support month-end and year-end close
Automation: Turn manual steps into clean, scalable workflows with AI tools, APIs and no-code solutions
VAT & Compliance: Own German VAT returns, EC sales lists and foreign VAT filings across our international B2B business.
Inventory: Help build inventory accounting and valuation from the ground up as we scale.
Partnership: Work closely with our tax advisors, external payroll provider and internal teams

About you
Completed vocational training with a focus on accounting or tax (e.g. Steuerfachangestellte/r) or a completed degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Ideally around 2 years of experience in accounting or at a tax firm – Bilanzbuchhalter qualification is a plus
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and VAT, ideally including international B2B transactions
A passion for tech: you have automated something before, use AI tools in your daily work, or want to understand how systems talk to each other via APIs
Confident use of accounting software (e.g. DATEV) and Excel/Google Sheets
Curiosity, initiative and attention to detail – you enjoy improving things, not just processing them
Startup experience is a plus
Fluent German and English
Based in Munich or willing to relocate
