The Role We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager / Sustainable Development Director to support sustainability strategy, environmental performance initiatives, and responsible business development. This role combines strategic planning, environmental data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting. The successful candidate will help identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop practical improvement plans, and align sustainability initiatives with organizational objectives and applicable regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and support environmental sustainability strategies, objectives, and implementation plans aligned with business priorities. Assess environmental performance across relevant operations, including energy use, water consumption, waste management, and resource efficiency. Support ESG initiatives, sustainability reporting, and the collection and validation of environmental performance data. Identify opportunities to reduce emissions, minimize waste, improve resource utilization, and strengthen environmental practices. Monitor relevant environmental legislation, standards, industry developments, and emerging sustainability requirements. Coordinate environmental assessments, risk reviews, internal audits, and corrective action plans where applicable. Establish performance indicators and prepare management reports on sustainability progress, targets, and improvement opportunities. Collaborate with operations, procurement, finance, and other teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business processes. Engage with external stakeholders, consultants, suppliers, and business partners on environmental initiatives. Promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible practices through internal communication and knowledge sharing. Requirements Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in environmental management, sustainability, ESG, sustainable development, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred. Understanding of environmental management principles, sustainability metrics, and ESG reporting practices. Familiarity with carbon accounting, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental risk assessment is an advantage. Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and frameworks such as ISO 14001, GHG Protocol, or GRI is beneficial. Strong analytical, research, project coordination, and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
