International Sustainability Expert (ESG Strategy & Digitalisation)

denxpert · Budapest, Budapest, Hungary · Hybrid · Full-time

About Us At Denxpert, we're on a mission to make the world a more sustainable place. Denxpert is a dynamic and rapidly growing company that helps organisations around the world manage their EHS and sustainability obligations. Our solutions have captured the market's attention, and we work with high-impact clients in over 30 countries already. To keep pace with our growth, we are looking for an International Sustainability Expert. If you're ready to join a high-energy team and be part of our exciting journey, we want to hear from you. Role Overview This is the role for someone who reads the regulatory horizon and translates it into action, across borders. As our International Sustainability Expert you'll be the person we turn to when we ask "where is ESG actually going, and what does that mean for our product and our clients?" That means working at two levels at once. At the European level you'll follow CSRD and ESRS, the Omnibus simplification package, CSDDD and the wider EU sustainability framework as they continue to move. At the national level you'll track how individual countries transpose, tighten or diverge from those rules, and how local ESG and sustainability legislation develops in the markets we serve. Our clients operate in over 30 countries and expect us to know the difference between what Brussels says and what applies to their site in Germany, Poland, Hungary or Turkey. This is not a single-market role. You'll turn that understanding into clear direction for our agile product team, step in when a client conversation gets genuinely complicated, and represent Denxpert on stage at international conferences, webinars and business development events. We want you to become our recognised international sustainability expert and we'll invest in getting you there. 😊 Key Responsibilities Follow and interpret EU sustainability regulation in depth like CSRD, ESRS, ISSB, CSDDD and related frameworks, including draft legislation, guidance and interpretive developments, not just final texts Track national transposition and local ESG and sustainability legislation across the markets we serve, and assess what each change means for our clients and our product Translate legal and regulatory requirements into product needs: support the Product Owner and Business Analyst in defining, prioritising and validating features Brief the company and our clients on what is changing, when it takes effect, and why it matters Join client and prospect conversations across countries where deep subject-matter expertise is needed, and help international consulting partners and enterprise clients find workable solutions Represent Denxpert externally on international conferences, industry events, webinars and professional days and building our profile and supporting business development Work with experts, partners, regulators' guidance and industry bodies in multiple markets to assess needs and shape common approaches Train and share knowledge internally, raising the sustainability literacy of the whole team Qualifications 3+ years of relevant expert or consulting experience in sustainability, ESG or corporate sustainability reporting Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply sustainability legislation and standards — comfortable working directly with legal texts, standards and official guidance rather than only secondary summaries Working familiarity with CSRD, ESRS and CSDDD, and genuine interest in how national legislation implements and extends them Experience in an international environment, or a clear appetite for it: working across jurisdictions, cultures and client organisations in multiple countries Excellent written and spoken English; confident presenting to senior international audiences. Additional European languages are an advantage Genuine belief in the power of digitalisation in the corporate sustainability journey — and the drive to act on it IT affinity: comfortable understanding complex systems and working with a software team Ability to communicate complex legal and analytical content concisely, to both experts and non-experts Proactive, results-oriented attitude and comfort in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Interest in business development and building an external professional profile Bachelor's degree in a related field Strong commitment to our vision, values and to excellent customer service Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events What's great about the job? Room to spread your wings and make an impact with your own initiatives A genuinely visible role: you'll be the face of our expertise, internally and externally Exposure to sustainability regulation across more than 30 countries Collaborate with a smart and friendly team in an open culture Real responsibilities and challenges in a fast-evolving company Meaningful international projects with high-profile clients Competitive salary and benefits Modern office with a panorama of Buda Hybrid work model (2 days in the office, 3 days remote) Participation in training courses, conferences and international industry events Working at Denxpert means collaborating with clients from around the world. You'll expand your skills and knowledge on challenging, innovative projects, and there's plenty of room for growth as we continue to expand. If you're passionate about sustainability, energised by regulatory complexity and excited by the idea of shaping both a product and a market, we'd love to hear from you.
